MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER (6-8) – FT, PT & SUBSTITUTE

Carter G. Woodson School is a non-profit charter school in Winston-Salem, N.C. We serve 500 students from grades K – 12 each year and support over 80+ staff. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Teacher to join our team. The desired candidate for this position will have a passion for education and exercise responsible leadership. The candidate will communicate in a professional and positive manner at all times with parents, staff, students, school officials, and any other individual they may come in contact with.

Job Type:

Full-time; on campus.

Job Responsibilities:

• Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards;
• Teach science and math concepts relevant to middle school students, including topics like fractions, decimals, percentages, basic algebra, geometry, and data analysis.
• Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards;
• Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices;
• Prepare students to successfully pass all state-required assessments, including EOGs and/or EOCs
• Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions;
• Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior;
• Be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards;
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues; and

Qualifications:

· North Carolina State Teaching License.

· Bachelor’s Degree.

· Proven experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Patience, flexibility, and the ability to work well with diverse student populations.

· Knowledge of educational principles and teaching methods.

· Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience.
