Job Description
Location: Omaha, NE
About the Role
At Balance4ward, we are on a mission to level the playing field for mid-market cattlemen. This role sits at the front end of that mission by building new relationships, creating opportunities, and introducing producers to a better way of operating.
This is not a traditional account management role focused on maintaining existing relationships. This role is about creating them. You will spend the majority of your time in the field networking, asking questions, and engaging with cattle feeders to understand how they operate and where they are looking to improve.
You will guide prospective clients through the Balance4ward process, acting as their primary point of contact as they are introduced to different areas of our business and key partners. Your ability to build trust early, communicate clearly, and create a strong first impression will directly impact our growth.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead Generation and Prospecting: Proactively identify, engage, and develop new relationships with cattle feeders and farmers within your assigned territory
· Relationship Creation: Build trust with prospective clients through meaningful conversations, curiosity, and consistent follow-up
· Industry Engagement: Actively network within the cattle industry by attending events, visiting operations, and staying connected to local markets
· Discovery and Needs Assessment: Ask thoughtful questions to understand how operations function and where opportunities exist
· Process Facilitation: Guide prospects through the Balance4ward process, coordinating introductions to internal teams and external partners
· Internal Coordination: Work closely with feedlot performance, risk management, feed merchandising, and other teams to ensure a seamless client experience
· Opportunity Development: Identify qualified opportunities and help transition clients into long-term partnerships
Qualifications and Ideal Candidate Profile
· Experience in sales development, lead generation, or business development preferred
· Background or strong working knowledge of the cattle industry
· Ability and desire to spend 75% or more of time in the field within an assigned territory
· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
· Bachelor’s degree in agriculture business or related field preferred
Success in this role looks like someone who:
· Is naturally curious and enjoys asking questions to understand how things work
· Is trustworthy and follows through on commitments
· Is charismatic and able to build rapport quickly with producers
· Has a strong internal drive and is motivated by creating new opportunities
· Can “talk shop” and connect authentically within the cattle industry
· Is detail oriented and able to manage multiple conversations and follow-ups at once
· Is comfortable navigating ambiguity and learning as they go
