  • PART I - General Job / Performance Information
  • Education and Experience
    • High School education or equivalent (GED); willingness to meet the eligibility requirements for certification by the American Trauma Society.
  • Environmental / Working Conditions
    • Light lifting may be required; frequent walking and sitting. Hearing acuity and clear speech patterns are necessary, as frequent communication is involved. Visual acuity is necessary for typing and reading.
  • Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
    • This position requires close interaction with the medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary departments in order to facilitate a quality multi-disciplinary approach to care of the trauma patient.
  • Job Description
    • Under the direction of the Trauma and Burn Program Director and the Trauma and Burn Medical Director maintains the functions of the Trauma/Burn Registry in accordance to guidelines set by the American College of Surgeons, American Burn Association, and the Texas Department for State Health Services. Responsible for establishing and maintaining the efficient operation of the trauma/burn registry, registering and analyzing registry data, ensuring data quality; planning, organizing and coordinating committee meetings.

    • None
  • Physical Capabilities
    • Light lifting may be required; frequent walking and sitting. Hearing acuity and clear speech patterns are necessary, as frequent communication is involved. Visual acuity is necessary for typing and reading.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, EMS providers, and outlying facilities. Must be well organized and have the ability to prioritize a busy workload. Familiarity with hospital organization and system development and medical terminology is preferred. Requires strong computer skills, with knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Must have the ability to critically analyze and evaluate data for accuracy. Generate reports, compile agendas and minutes for professional staff meetings.
