Job Title : Apprentice Superintendent
Description Hiring Requirements: • High School Graduate required; trade school preferred. • Manual Labor experience, preferably in construction • Ability to read Blueprints or willing to take a class to learn • Bi-Lingual- Spanish- strongly preferred (if not willing to learn after hours) • Minimum 18 years old, valid driver’s license • Able to pass a drug test • Reliable transportation and availability to work long hours and Saturdays as needed • Ability to work in all weather conditions, maneuver safely on a construction site, and be on your feet or long periods • This is a management position- Construction is completed by subcontractors and Sordoni employees are responsible for monitoring that plans are being implemented properly, safely and according to schedule and cost. Salary & Benefits • Starting salary- $36,000 • 15 days PTO accrued in accordance with Company Policies • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance available • 401K with Match Job Description for First year: • Observe and shadow Superintendent and learn all aspects of the position • Interact with Subcontractors and help monitor safety and quality • Walk job site frequently throughout the day following all safety guidelines • Write daily reports • Obtain OSHA 10 as well as complete Sordoni Safety training • Learn to read a schedule • Take jobsite photos for recording of work done • Learn how to read Drawings- Basic Site, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing • Online enrollment to Duolingo if not able to speak Spanish (to be completed after hours) • All apprentices shall report directly to the lead Project Superintendent and General Superintendent. They shall also be assigned a Sr. Superintendent as a mentor and shall have quarterly meetings outside of regular work hours to meet with their mentor. Second year and third year expectations will increase towards development into an Assistant Superintendent and ultimately a Superintendent depending on performance
