RN, Surgical Short Stay, Per Diem, Rotating Shift at Adventist Health – San Luis Obispo, California

LOCATION SUMMARY:

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a union-based role represented by CNA. Responsible for the pre and post operative/procedure care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with a variety of health care needs and disease processes. Care includes technical skills, equipment, assessment, pre and post education and discharge in a fast-paced environment. Minimum of one year experience in pre and post op diagnostic cath lab preferred.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Work Experience:

• Associate's Degree of Equivalent: Required
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing: Required
• Completion of a basic cardiac arrhythmia class with passing score: Required
• Bachelor's Degree: Preferred
• Minimum 6 months experience in medical surgical nursing in last 2 years: Preferred
• Has excellent observation, good nursing judgment/critical thinking and good oral and written communication skills: Preferred
• Ability to work effectively with multiple tasks in a team setting utilizing interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skills: Preferred
• Able to supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice: Preferred
• Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligations: Preferred
• Minimum of one year experience in pre and post op diagnostic cath lab: Peferred

Licenses and Certifications:

• BLS: Required
• ACLS: Required
• PALS: Required
• California RN License: Required
