LPN - Applicant at Childrens Hospital of The King's Daughters – Hampton, Virginia

Performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to support the medical practice. Reports to department management and works in close cooperation with and under the clinical guidance/supervision of the practice physician(s) and/or Registered nurse.

Provides a variety of clinical and non-clinical treatments and services for patients.

Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care.

Demonstrates computer skills to utilize available information systems.

Utilizes effective methods of communication in the delivery of care to children.

Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

A graduate who has filed a completed application for licensure in Virginia and has received an authorization letter issued by the board may practice from the date of the authorization letter. The period of practice shall not exceed 90 days between the date of successful completion of the nursing education program, as documented on the applicant’s transcript and the publication of the results of the candidate’s first licensing examination.

Professional knowledge of nursing practice.

Successful completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.

Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript

Must have received Authorization letter from the Virginia Board of Nursing.

Pediatric experience preferred.

CPR training required or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.

Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.
