Assistant Teacher at Norris Square Civic Association – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our team. As a Preschool Assistant Teacher, you will be responsible for assisting the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for our young students.

Responsibilities:

- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for children

- Provide support to children with daily routines such as toileting, dressing, and eating

- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment

- Observe and document children's progress and behavior

- Communicate effectively with parents and other staff members

- Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or CDA in preschool

- Previous experience working with young children in a classroom setting

- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work collaboratively with others

- Must pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances
