Inpatient Behavioral Health Registered Nurse

General Summary:

• Completes an initial treatment plan including basic and special needs
• Treats and cares for patients demonstrating understanding pf cognitive, emotional and chronological status
• Anticipates and provides for discharge needs
• Charts patient's progress in conjunction with the specific treatment plan
• Utilizes available resource including family, referral source, prior treatment sources, and current multidisciplinary treatment team
• Demonstrates accountability and responsibility for the therapeutic milieu
• Validates the appropriateness of written orders
• Implements physician and nursing orders as appropriate involving patient, family and significant others
• Competent group facilitation and 1:1 interactions

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelors Degree Preferred
  

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS:

• Current, Unrestricted State of Illinois Registered Professional Nursing Licensure
• Current CPR - BLS Certification
  

EXPEREINCE:

• 1 year of nursing experience within area of inpatient psychiatry - preferred
• Successful completion of Hospital and Unit orientation programs
