About This Position

Job Overview:

The Telemetry Technician oversees the cardiac monitor for arrhythmias and changes in rhythm.

The Telemetry Unit is a 38-bed, team-oriented unit that provides a wide variety of Medical/Surgical and diagnostic services to a diverse cardiac population i.e. congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, respiratory compromise and dysrhythmias.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

  • Completion of a Medical Assisting, CNA, related technical education course, completion of Fundamentals of Nursing course, or hospital based telemetry technician experience

Preferred:

  • At least one year of telemetry/monitoring work experience
  • Certified completion of ECG or telemetry course including Rhythm / Arrhythmia identification

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift working, 8:00—4:30pm each day
  • FT

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzes rhythm, calculates cardiac
  • Rhythm measurements and report changes
  • Enters accurate information of individual patient to telemetry monitor system
  • Discharge patient from system as directed by RN
