About This Position
Pay Range: $ 20.03/hr - $ 22.64/hr - $ 25.65/hr
*Please note, the highest starting rate as a new hire is $ 22.64/hr, based on applicable experience
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Orthopedic Technician I is supervised by a registered nurse and assists the physician with the physical care and educational needs of the orthopedic patient. They assist with, but are not assigned to, patient care when orthopedic duties are completed. They contribute in providing patient care and education to the patient and family in accordance with the standards, policies, and practices of Enloe Medical Center. They order and maintain orthopedic supplies.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
One year of experience in orthopedic care to include experience with splinting, traction and wound care.
Successful completion of college-level Anatomy course
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
Orthopedic Technologist Certification (OTC) issued by the NBCOT must be obtained within two years of hire or transfer.
Current CPR recognition.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Must demonstrate technical competence, communication skills and sensitivity for the family in crisis.
