About This Position
Position Description: The Mission of the Funeral Service Apprentice is to increase funeral home net revenue every yearcombination of increasing call volumes and ARPC of the funeral home.
The Funeral Service Apprentice gains experience prior to becoming a licensed funeral director. The Funeral Service Apprentice should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the Funeral Service Apprenticeship having gained broad experience in various aspects of funeral service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Fulfill tasks set out by supervisors from several departments.
- Conduct a variety of general administrative and funeral service tasks as assigned.
- Work with funeral directors and other staff to learn about funeral service.
- Perform professional services under the supervision of a licensed funeral director.
- Effectively communicate with all levels of staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

FUNERAL SERVICE APPRENTICE REQUIREMENTS
- Must have graduated or be enrolled at an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
- Must be licensed as a provisional licensee by the appropriate state authority.
- Must be employed during the entirety of the program by a funeral director/embalmer under the direct instruction and supervision of the FDIC/EIC.
- Must possess a valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Eager to learn and work with various departments in the Company.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Proficient or willing to become proficient in Crakn and NetSuite.
- Ability to multitask.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
