Accounting Intern in West Des Moines, Iowa at IMT Insurance

IMT Insurance is now accepting applications for our Accounting Internship position within our Accounting Department for the Summer 2027 Internship Program. This opportunity offers hands-on Accounting experience in the insurance industry and will help you create a network of contacts and develop your analytical and critical thinking skills. You will assist with a variety of projects and daily tasks that could include: unclaimed property letters and responses, AI test projects, travel, PCS surveys, routine billing questions, backup support for daily tasks, and ad hoc projects.

In addition to working in the Accounting Department, you will also learn about the insurance industry as a whole by visiting with each department at IMT in a rotational program. Ideal applicants will be passionate, self-motivated, detail-oriented and have an interest in developing their skills through hands-on experience. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be working towards a college degree in Accounting.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel is required. Experience with Microsoft Word is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to analyze and problem solve.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and organize and complete essential job functions on a daily basis.
• Must be a self-starter.
• Ability to listen and communicate internally/externally to the customer, both verbally and in writing.
