Summary
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician’s position is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of the company’s equipment.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Must possess all skills and abilities of a Level I mechanic
- Responsible, with minimal or no supervision, to set up, change over, and tear down all production line equipment
- Must be able to operate all production machinery, handle all facets of repair to the plant, building, grounds, and production equipment.
- Efficient in completing Preventative Maintenance Work Orders using CMMS
- Able to perform all assigned workload, with minimal or no supervision, maintenance and repairs on all conveyors, fillers, packaging, cheese, and other production equipment
- Perform a thorough preventative maintenance analysis on any equipment utilized by this facility
- Possess an understanding of electricity (low and high voltage) and understand how to utilize a meter for testing and overall electrical troubleshooting. Rad electrical schematics, repair all electrical related issues
- Can run all types of conduits and wire size, work with devices such as receptacles, electrical plugs, switches, sensors, PLC, HMI, Servo drives, and other control devices
- Willing to work off shift hours, overtime and be on call as needed
- Must have basic knowledge of the wastewater systems
- Can troubleshoot and repair HVAC, Chiller, Boiler, Sprinkler, Packaging, Filling, HTST and CIP systems
- Maintain and install plumbing fixtures and piping
- Maintain and repair all building fixtures
- Must be able to assist in the installation, operation, and maintenance of all new equipment
- Actively participate in training courses provided by Lifeway Foods
- Perform duties according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Sanitization Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) that meet quality and safety standards pertaining to: Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Wisconsin Department of Agriculture (WDA), and customer requirements
- Conduct behavior in compliance with Lifeway Employee Policy
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualification and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2 to 3 years of experience
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to actively listen to instructions and understand basic English
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Ability to be on your feet for an 8-hour shift
- Ability to climb on ladders and maneuver through equipment
