Job Summary:
This role offers a unique opportunity to support business development efforts at Amira Learning, a leader in AI-driven reading tutoring and assessment. By contributing to the creation of compelling proposals, you will help drive innovative, research-backed solutions that accelerate literacy development for students worldwide, ensuring high-impact outcomes for educators, learners, and school districts. Your work will play a crucial role in expanding Amira Learning's mission to provide effective, scalable reading support aligned with the needs of today’s classrooms.
Essential Functions:
Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to understand client requirements and guide proposal development.
Collaborate with Sales, Impact and Strategy to develop response strategies that align with company capabilities and client needs.
Develop a draft outline for each proposal, structuring sections based on RFP requirements, win themes, and internal input.
Work closely with sales, product, technology, data science, content, contracts, and other internal teams to gather necessary information and craft accurate, compliant responses.
Tailor existing content and develop new material from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure each proposal conveys compelling win themes and meets solicitation requirements.
Ensure all proposals are high-quality, error-free, and professionally presented, adhering to company standards and client expectations.
Assemble complete and fully compliant proposal packages, working with the Proposals team to ensure on-time submission.
Maintain and update a proposal content library to streamline future proposal efforts and improve response efficiency.
Provide copywriting support for catalog bids, sales collateral, and other proposal-related tasks as needed.
Position Competencies:
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear and persuasive language.
Strong research and analytical abilities to understand and address client needs in each proposal.
Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality content that is clear, consistent, and aligned with RFP requirements.
Deadline-driven, with excellent multitasking skills and the ability to meet fast-paced turnaround times.
Proficient in Google Applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work with multiple internal stakeholders across various teams.
Familiarity with K-12 education, EdTech platforms, and AI-driven assessment tools preferred.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
3-5 years of experience as a proposal writer, grant writer, or technical writer.
Proven track record of developing compliant, compelling proposals in a fast-paced environment.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or related field.
5+ years of experience writing proposals for EdTech, AI-driven assessment, or instructional technologies.
Experience working in K-12 education or AI-driven tutoring/assessment platforms.
Familiarity with compliance requirements and win themes in education-related proposals.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to craft high-quality prose from bullet points, interviews, or other inputs, ensuring consistency and clarity across documents.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, managing multiple proposals simultaneously.
Experience maintaining proposal content libraries and streamlining response strategies.
Strong collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work across departments to gather critical information.
