About This Position
Dr. Robert Haile in the Department of Cancer Epidemiology at the Moffitt Cancer Center is recruiting an Applied Research Scientist. Join our dynamic team of researchers as we drive innovation and impact in improving cancer prevention and control strategies and develop targeted interventions for high-risk populations. Dr. Haile's research focuses on the epidemiology of cancer, specifically identifying genetic and environmental risk factors that contribute to cancer development and progression and conducting cancer prevention and control intervention trials.
As an Applied Research Scientist, you'll play a crucial role in helping to develop a portfolio of grant-funded studies. This would include the following activities:
1. Develop grant concepts
2. Support efforts to obtain preliminary funding
3. Support efforts to fund full-scale studies
Position Highlights:

The Ideal Candidate:
• Have doctoral level training in a relevant population science area, such as epidemiology, behavioral sciences, or health services.
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience with creating PowerPoint slides.
• Have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Have previous experience with literature reviews and writing summaries of relevant literature.
Credentials and Qualifications:
• Ph.D. or M.D. in a science related field.
o Preference given to someone with previous experience in cancer prevention and control research.
