Command Center Specialist II at Columbus Regional Health – Columbus, Indiana

What you need to know about this position:

• The Command Center is the control system for the placement of patients and the scheduling of staff resources within the inpatient nursing units of the hospital.
• As a member of this team, you are integral to ensuring that the patient flow within the hospital is smooth and contributes to an overall positive patient experience.
• As a Resource Specialist, you schedule, monitor and coordinate with hospital staff to ensure that we have the right people in the right place to meet the needs of our patients 24 hours a day.
• You will work with departments within the hospital and other facilities to facilitate the transfer of a patient to the right bed in a timely manner.
• Our Command Center Resource Specialists have an hourly base rate starting at $18.55. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience and does include shift differentials and premium pay as applicable. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
• In this WEO position you would be scheduled to work 2 -12-hour night shifts (24 hours/week, considered part-time) with start/end times of 3:00pm-3:00am over the weekend, specifically Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
• The Weekend Option position offers a premium for hours worked between Friday at 3pm and Monday at 7:30am.
• *To be eligible for the Weekend option position, at least 2 years of experience within department preferred but not required.
• With at least 24 hours per week, this position is benefit eligible.

What is required for this position:

• Upon hire, you must have:
  • One of the following:
    • Associates degree and 1 year of healthcare experience or
    • 5 years of healthcare experience or
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Lean Sigma experience preferred.

• This position is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, use hands and fingers to handle controls, require the ability to talk and hear; is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arm and the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
