Licensed Optometrist at Ladgov Corporation – Kayenta, Arizona

Job Title: Licensed Optometrist
Location: Kayenta Health Center – Kayenta Service Unit, Navajo Area Indian Health Service
Hours: Mon–Fri, excluding Federal Holidays (Tour of duty set by Supervisor; 40 hrs/week)

Key Duties:

• Provide comprehensive eye care including diagnosis and management of visual and ocular pathologies.

• Prescribe corrective lenses, vision training, and therapeutic medications (topical and oral).

• Deliver emergency eye care for trauma and acute conditions.

• Utilize lab and radiology services to evaluate ophthalmologic conditions.

• Coordinate eye care with other physicians when systemic disease is present.

• Refer and coordinate care for patients requiring services outside the Service Unit.

• Consult with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and medical staff for complex cases.

• Supervise Eye Clinic personnel and precept optometry students as needed.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited institution.

• Current, unrestricted optometry license in any U.S. state (diagnostic & therapeutic privileges required).

• Active DEA license.

• Minimum 1 year recent optometry experience.

• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

• Proficient in EHR/EMR and basic computer skills.
