About This Position
NATURE AND SCOPE
Reporting to the CSW Team Lead or designate, the Community Support Worker plays a key role in fostering a safe, structured, and supportive environment for clients in recovery. This position is responsible for promoting client engagement in therapeutic programming, supporting daily routines, facilitating recreation and wellness activities, and providing transportation to off-site appointments and recovery-related events.
Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Community Support Worker helps ensure continuity of care by supporting individualized treatment plans, modeling healthy coping strategies, and reinforcing program expectations. The CSW contributes to the overall therapeutic milieu by maintaining professional boundaries, promoting a culture of respect and accountability, and encouraging active participation in recovery.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
· Grade twelve diploma (or equivalent).
· Preference will be given to those with a Social Services Certificate or Diploma.
· Class five driver’s license with a clear driver’s abstract.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.
· A demonstrated interest in recovery coupled with knowledge of the 12-step program or general recovery process.
· Strong interpersonal, confidentiality and conflict resolution skills.
· Must provide a valid driver’s license and a current driver’s abstract upon hire.
· Will be required to obtain a Criminal record Check with Vulnerable sector check upon hiring and every 2 years of employment.
· All employees are required to complete Naloxone training, along with other mandatory trainings, within their first three months of employment
