Job Description
We are seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Care Workers (DCWs) to provide essential services to individuals with developmental disabilities. DCWs deliver care and support through a variety of services, including Attendant Care (ATC), Habilitation (HAH), and Respite (RSP). This role is vital in improving the quality of life for the individuals we serve.
Services Provided:
As a DCW, you will provide one or more of the following services based on the needs of our clients:
1. Attendant Care (ATC): Assist individuals with daily living tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, and household chores.
2. Habilitation (HAH): Teach and reinforce skills to help individuals develop independence, such as communication, personal care, money management, and social interactions.
3. Respite (RSP): Provide short-term relief for caregivers by supervising and engaging with individuals in a safe, nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Deliver person-centered care tailored to each individual’s unique needs and goals.
2. Assist with daily living activities and promote independence.
3. Implement habilitation plans and track progress.
4. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
5. Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients.
6. Accompany individuals on community outings and activities as needed.
7. Document daily activities, progress, and any incidents accurately and timely.
8. Collaborate with families, supervisors, and team members to ensure high-quality care.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Must be at least 18 years old.
3. Ability to complete a background check and obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
4. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
5. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred for certain roles).
6. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
7. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping others.
8. Experience in caregiving or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus (training provided for the right candidate).
