Rad Tech Level II/CT Tech at Orchard Hospital – Gridley, California

Licensed radiology technologist in California, CRT, responsible for basic x-ray exams in the radiology department. Under indirect supervision, operates radiographic equipment using imaging modalities. Performs general diagnostic radiology procedures in compliance with department protocols, including fluoroscopy, orthopedics, tomography, c-arms, surgery and portables. Evaluates radiographs for technical quality. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Applies principles of radiation protection and provides patient care essential to radiographic procedures. Recognizes patient-conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measure.

Qualifications:

1. Graduate of an accredited 2 or 4 year Radiology program and hold an active CRT or ARRT(CT) license. Must hold current state of California permit to practice in Radiology where applicable.
2. Two years of basic radiology experience.
3. Two years of CT experience.
4. High School graduate or equivalent
5. Current CPR Certified
6. Moderate to heavy lifting may be required.

Job Description:

1. Performs ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and CT protocols of the individual site and reading physician.
2. Transports patients to and from the mobile coach/facility. Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during transport to and from the mobile coach and during the exam.
3. Maintains technical competency through ARRT CT registry examination, continued education, participation in hospital competency sponsored training programs.
4. Under guidance and approval of site ordering Physician, radiology supervisor and or Radiologist, administers contrast agents and/or radiopharmaceuticals according to site-specific protocols.
5. Completes and signs the Patient Screening form and reviews/explains the procedure to the patient.
6. Provides images to the facility in the desired site format.
7. Maintains confidentiality of all department and hospital information according to established procedures.
8. Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members.
9. If applicable, assists with the set up and tear down of equipment in accordance with BGMH and/or manufacturers’ guidelines.
