Job Title: CNC Set Up Machinist

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB.

Parlec LLC is looking for new highly skilled team member for CNC Mill Turn Machinist of multi-axis sub-spindle Mazak Integrexes

This posting is for highly ranked industry candidates, who can at a minimum, setup a dual spindle double turret machine with tools properly touched off (machine geometry taught), cut jaws to .0005" or better TIR, air run, cut metal, offsetting tools as needed for extra stock, making offsets to cut to size during this process, transfer a part and produce a first article part for quality inspection.

Do not apply unless you believe you are confident in your knowledge and above average work ethic. The ideal candidate for this position has at least 5 years of mill turn set up experience.

You will be trained by high-level skilled machinist who will work to setup instruction sheets and IP inspection plans to follow, including teaching bar loaders. The candidate should possess the skills for tool life management, tool load monitoring, high-pressure coolant systems, as well as tool setters to ensure quality and efficiency. This position will be expected to utilize the company set protocols for safe and efficient setup operation. The CNC Mill Turn Machinist is responsible for the daily operation of the machines in their area and the quality of the machined products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the CNC Mill Turn Machinist will consist of but are not limited to:

  • Proficient operation of all machines within the department, plus the ability to operate in at least one other department
  • Setup repeat jobs unassisted and new jobs with support within the department
  • Basic background editing on CNC programs
  • Perform in process inspection of machined products (including documentation of results)
  • Complete and maintain paperwork for parts
  • Complete understanding of secondary operations i.e. deburr, polish, CMM, final inspection
  • Troubleshoot with the support from a Supervisor, or Engineer
  • Performs 1st piece inspections
  • Maintain balance when completing machine set-up, production, and maintenance duties

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in CNC Mill-Turn machining

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged standing with occasional twisting (80-90% of the workday)
  • Frequent lifting of materials up to 30 lbs., occasional lifting to 50 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling carts and/or pallet jacks
  • Frequent firm grip with tools requiring torque to tighten machine parts, tooling, and fixtures
  • Must be able to meet customer demand requirements for performing visual inspection and/or other product acceptance activities with or without accommodation (only for positions in which this is a requirement of the job per the customer requirement)

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Monday to Thursday
  • Overtime
