Quality Assurance Engineer

Overview of the Role:

The Quality Assurance Engineer will play a vital role in ensuring the consistency, safety, and quality of our products and processes. This position is highly documentation-focused and will require expertise in quality management systems, technical writing, and CAD tools. You’ll work closely with the manufacturing, engineering, and customer service teams to develop and maintain key quality documentation, perform process audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Documentation Development and Maintenance:

  • Create, revise, and manage comprehensive quality documentation, including:
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Quality Management System (QMS) records
    • Technical specifications and reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all documentation meets industry standards and is up-to-date.
  • Develop templates and tools to streamline documentation processes and improve accessibility.

Quality Process Management:

  • Design, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits of quality systems and processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support the integration of quality tools, such as statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis (RCA).

CAD and Technical Analysis:

  • Use CAD software to review and verify product designs, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Develop visual aids, diagrams, and technical illustrations to enhance documentation clarity.
  • Support the engineering team with quality-focused feedback on design iterations and new products.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with customer service and field technicians to collect and analyze data from customer feedback, driving product and process improvements.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and quality guides for internal and external use.
  • Act as a resource for the team in all quality-related queries, promoting best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, technical writing, or a similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Fusion360, SolidWorks).
  • Strong technical writing skills, with a portfolio of technical documentation preferred.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience in consumer products or IoT device manufacturing.
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other quality methodologies.
  • Familiarity with document control systems or PLM tools.
