Customer Service Representative at Barton Mines Company, LLC – Glens Falls, New York

Barton International is a well-established, family-owned business producing the world's highest-quality garnet abrasives and has been doing so for more than six generations. Barton began mining and milling operations in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York in 1878.

Barton is currently seeking a Customer Service Representative. This job will work a hybrid remote/in-office schedule, two days per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) in our Glens Falls, NY Corporate Headquarters.

Job Summary:

Provides excellent customer service by fielding customer inquiries, providing information and assistance, entering orders, and a variety of other customer needs. Communicates regularly with internal and external customers to ensure Barton always maintains high quality customer service.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Respond to customer inquiries via telephone, fax and email.
• Accurately inputs customer’s orders in ERP timely.
• Provides requested information regarding product offering, pricing, availability, delivery schedules, order status and general questions.

The ideal candidate should have:

• High school diploma.
• One to three years customer service experience.
• Logistics experience, a plus.
• Strong computer skills using standard software applications.
• Ability to resolve a variety of customer service needs.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in a professional manner in person, via phone or written correspondence.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
