The Channelview Fire Department will be accepting applications for the position of

Firefighter/Paramedic or Paramedic assigned to the EMS Division. Responsibilities

Harris County Emergency Service District #50 (Channelview Fire Department) provides fire and emergency medical services to over 38,000 residents in an unincorporated area of eastern Harris County, Texas. Harris County Emergency Service District #50 encompasses approximately 19 square miles that produces over 4,662 responses for emergency service per year.

Qualifications

To obtain employment an applicant must meet the following criteria at the time the application is submitted:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 21 Years of age
• TCFP Basic Firefighter certification and/or TDSHS Paramedic Certification

Job Benefits

• Shift -2 options:

1) 48/144 (2 days on-6 days off) - four shift rotation (A, B, C, D)

2) 72/120 (3 days on-5 days off)

• Starting Salary for 48/144 - $53,525 & after 1 year - $57,920 plus overtime upon completion of FTO
• Starting Salary for 72/120 (3 days on-5 days off) $89,000 & after 1 year $96,300. *3rd day does not have to be 3 in a row.
• Average ambulance call volume = 5/day
• No Social Security Withheld
• Paid Time-Off (PTO) - Max accrual 550hrs
• Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS) 2:1 match
• Medical, life, dental, and vision insurance programs available after 90 days of employment for employee and family TML (current BCBS)
• Uniform Stipend - $300 annually
• Monthly Certification Incentive Pay – up to $100/month
• Paid Gym Membership and Health Incentives - $30/month paid bi-annually
