About This Position

This recruitment will establish an eligibility list for current and future vacancies for park tech positions. The eligibility list will be active for six months. This eligibility list may be used to fill multiple positions with different schedule requirements.




The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) seeks a Park Tech to keep our parks and athletic facilities looking to the high standards our community expects. Our parks and fields are well-used by the community and well-maintained by our professional employees in the maintenance operations department.

The Park Tech performs a variety of duties in the area of park and outdoor athletic facility maintenance.

Duties include equipment operation, plant health practices, turf management practices, irrigation repair, playground safety inspection, athletic field and court maintenance, integrated pest management, reporting of conditions, and other work as required.

This position assumes a consistent weekly schedule with early mornings.

Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that would likely provide the applicant with the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

The completion of the twelfth grade, or equivalent work-life experience, and one (1) year of experience in park and athletic facility maintenance, including the operation of commercial landscape equipment and mowers.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must maintain a valid Oregon Driver's License, and good driving record

  • Current Pesticide Applicator License issued by the State of Oregon is required (within 6 months of hire)

  • Current first aid and CPR certification, preferred
