Job Summary:
The Service Manager will function as the leader of service and maintenance for the branch. The Service Manager will hire and motivate a team of shop techs, field techs that provide preventative and repair services Griffin Fluid Management equipment to ensure safe operation and readiness for rental. The Service Manager reports to and works closely with the Branch Manager, helping to build a profitable location with their leadership, service and maintenance knowledge, and business management skills.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise the preventative maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair of a variety of equipment, including but not limited to the following: Gas and Diesel-powered engines, centrifugal pumps, test pumps, hydrostatic test pumps, submersible pumps, etc.
- Motivate, coach and train employees to exceed time & quality standards and comply with standard repair and maintenance processes
- Supervise employees ensuring safety policies and procedures are always followed
- Build strong customer relationships through the delivery of high quality and timely customer service
- Maximize productivity while maintaining a safe work environment in a clean, organized facility
- Manage the shop operating expenses
- Lead, plan, measure and continuous improvement of all service and maintenance performance metrics
- Meet on regular basis with Branch Manager, reporting any problems and discussing possible solutions
- Ensure that customers and sales reps are informed in a timely manner of any customer damage.
- Maintain an accurate parts inventory
- Order repair parts in a timely manner as needed.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum technical degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience troubleshooting and mechanical repairs.
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of construction equipment.
- Experience with a web-based maintenance tracking program.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Lift up to 50lbs, Up to 100lbs with assistance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with John Deere, CAT and Perkins engines preferred.
- Experience with plunger, multistage and centrifugal pumps preferred.
- OSHA 10 Certified preferred.
- TWIC Card preferred.
