About the RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Chief of Staff to join our extremely fast-paced team at Voltai. This is an operations-heavy role, if you’re looking for purely strategic or product positions this is not a good fit. You will own a broad range of responsibilities, from managing company logistics and team building to directly interfacing with customers and investors. You will work very closely with the leadership team and have high visibility with silicon valley’s top investors and board members. As a result we expect extremely high problem solving skills and ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Own large-scale human data projects across domains like circuits, firmware, components, and system design.
  • Work closely with ML, product, and engineering teams to define and deliver on labeling roadmaps.
  • Design scalable workflows to manage human-in-the-loop data generation and quality control.
  • Hire, vet, and manage technical experts—such as electrical engineers and firmware developers—to contribute to annotation and data structuring.
  • Build global partnerships with universities, industry professionals, and consulting networks to continuously expand our data workforce.
  • Manage remote, distributed teams to ensure high-quality output and tight feedback loops.
  • Travel internationally to collect, license, and negotiate access to proprietary or hard-to-find data sets.
  • Build relationships with engineering teams, manufacturing vendors, and domain experts in different geographies.
  • Implement QA systems and review loops to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Track the impact of data on model performance and continuously refine processes based on feedback and evaluation results.
  • Contribute to the design and improvement of internal labeling tools and infrastructure.

Required Skillsets:
  • 3–6 years of experience in project management, operations, or strategy at a high-growth startup, consulting firm, or technical company.
  • Track record of running complex, cross-functional initiatives involving external vendors or expert communities.
  • Strong understanding of what makes high-integrity data, ideally with exposure to machine learning workflows or data curation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills—you can run projects, manage people, and keep a high bar for execution.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and operate in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with SQL, spreadsheets, and project management tools; familiarity with Python is a plus.
  • Low ego. You'll be joining a team of superstars so there is no room for ego.
  • Technical background (or fluency) in engineering, hardware, or applied sciences is a bonus.
