Job Summary:
Precision Private Security is seeking a highly skilled Unarmed Courthouse Security Officer to join our team in Yuba City, CA. The Unarmed Courthouse Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring the personal and physical security of employees and visitors. This includes responding to emergency situations, maintaining order, and enforcing client policies.

Required Licenses & Certifications:
- Guard Card

Education/Training Requirements:
- Guard Card
- 32 hours of Security Skills Training
- Guard Card/Appropriate Use of Force Update

Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 years of verifiable experience in providing security services.
- Former military or law enforcement experience is a plus.

Job Responsibilities:
Screening and Access Control:
- Operate metal detectors, X-ray machines, and other screening equipment to ensure no prohibited items enter the courthouse.
- Verify and validate the identity of individuals entering the building.
Visitor Assistance:
- Provide clear instructions to visitors regarding security procedures.
- Direct individuals to appropriate areas within the courthouse.
Monitoring and Surveillance:
- Monitor CCTV cameras and report any suspicious activity to supervisors.
Incident Response:
- Respond promptly to alarms or security breaches.
- Assist in evacuating the building during emergencies following established protocols.
Enforcement of Rules and Policies:
- Ensure compliance with courthouse security rules and regulations.
- Safely confiscate prohibited items and document as required.
Communication and Reporting:
- Communicate effectively with courthouse staff, law enforcement, and the public.
- Document incidents and prepare detailed reports as needed.
Customer Service:
- Maintain professionalism and provide courteous service to all visitors.
- Address questions or concerns from the public in a respectful and informative manner.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Conduct routine checks of screening equipment to ensure functionality.
- Report any malfunctions or issues for timely resolution.
Training and Compliance:
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on security procedures and technologies.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and legal requirements relevant to courthouse security.

Required Qualifications:
- Valid California Identification Card
- Active BSIS security permits (Guard Card, Firearm Permit, Baton Permit, Chemical Agent Permit)
- Reliable means of communication (cell phone, radio, etc.)
- Reliable means of transportation
- Ability to pass the company’s pre-assignment screening process, including interview, drug test, and criminal background check
- Knowledge of security equipment and protocols.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong observational and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Age 18 years or older
- At least 1 years of verifiable security experience (military or law enforcement background is a plus)

8-hour shifts

Initial Training (Before Applying)

☐ Appropriate Use of Force (5 hours, must be in-person)
Application & Background Check

☐ Submit Live Scan fingerprint background check (DOJ & FBI)
☐ Pay BSIS application fee (~$50–$60)
First-Year Required Training (Post-Approval)
☐ Complete additional 32 hours of BSIS-mandated training:
☐ 16 hours within first 30 days:
☐ Public Relations (Community & Customer) – 4 hrs
☐ Observation & Documentation – 4 hrs
☐ Communication and Its Significance – 4 hrs
☐ Liability / Legal Aspects – 4 hrs
☐ 16 hours within 6 months:

Annual Continuing Education
☐ Complete 8-hour refresher course annually

☐ Must be at least 18 years old
☐ Cannot begin work until Guard Card is approved OR you have BSIS approval screen-print with photo ID
