About This Position

Centennial Aircraft Services is a FAA Part-145 Repair Station located in Battle Creek Executive Airport (KBTL). We Specialize in general aviation and vintage aircraft avionics, maintenance, repair and restoration. The dedicated and organized team of FAA Certified A&P Mechanics are specially trained to inspect, maintain, modify, overhaul and repair single, twin and experimental piston aircraft.

As a Senior Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic you will work with limited supervision, assists with testing, adjusting and repairing, and other general tasks related to the maintenance and repair of an airframe systems and components on a variety of airframes in a safe and clean work environment according to manufacturer's specifications, as required by regulations. In addition, this position prepares and completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner.

**What you will do:**
- Oversee and perform maintenance, including annual inspections, return-to-service inspections, and repairs on various general aviation aircraft.
- Utilize calibrated tooling and equipment to perform accurate measurements and adjustments.
- Adhere to the repair station manual and standard operating procedures to maintain safety and quality standards.
- Mentor and train junior mechanics on proper maintenance techniques and procedures.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure the timely completion of tasks and minimal downtime for aircraft.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on complex maintenance issues, including troubleshooting and resolving discrepancies.
- Must be capable and have the experience level to perform effective troubleshooting of the most complicated aircraft squawks with limited supervision
- Performs inspections, servicing, and repairs of the most complicated nature on various aircraft systems and components on a variety of aircraft in a timely, clean, safe and professional manner with no rework and with a superior level of quality, craftsmanship, and efficiency. Repair, replace, trouble-shoot, and diagnose.
- Expertly prepare and complete various documents for maintenance/ modification record-keeping purposes, as required by FAA Airworthiness Regulations, company Policies, and Processes, FAA Approved Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, including project turnovers, and personal training logs (OJT).
- Capable of making sound technical decisions as a technician and/or as a Production Inspector. Efficiently and effectively troubleshoot and function test referencing the manufacturer's technical documents across various airframe, engine, and component systems.
- Expertly prepare and complete various documents for maintenance/ modification record-keeping purposes, as required by FAA Airworthiness Regulations, company Policies, and Processes, FAA Approved Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, including project turnovers, and personal training logs (OJT).
- Demonstrate proficient use of the company's Work Order system by completing accurate and timely listing of discrepancies and completing accurate corrective action statements, including completion of Service Bulletin and Airworthiness Directives (AD) compliance statements (ref. FAR §91.417).
- Willingly and effectively share knowledge and learned trusted techniques with less-experienced technicians through the OJT program to foster their development, ensure accurate work, and support the department's goals.
- Preventative maintenance, line maintenance, scheduled inspections, and accompanying maintenance up to and including ‘A-Checks’ and large component replacements in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies and procedures
- Install, inspect, test, replace, dismantle, alter, fabricate, repair, and reassemble aircraft components and engines. A variety of tools and equipment are used, including precision measuring devices, pneumatic devices, electrical testing devices, general shop equipment, ground support equipment, and computers
- Follow aircraft maintenance instructions and perform all needed services to requirements.
- Perform all manner of maintenance on multiple types of Certificated Aircraft in accordance with company policy, manufacturer’s manuals, and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair airframe and powerplant components and systems
- Document work completed per company procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations
- Perform minor maintenance on ground support equipment as needed
- Maintain the highest level of quality and integrity

**What We are Looking for:**
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A and P) Mechanic Certificate.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Minimum 5 years' experience working as an A and P Mechanic.
- Proven expertise in performing annual inspections, return-to-service inspections, and repairs on Textron (Cessna, Beechcraft), Cirrus, Piper, and similar aircraft models.
- Familiarity with calibrated tooling and equipment used in aircraft maintenance.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work without supervision and make independent decisions.
- Willingness to go on road trips for field maintenance and support operations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English.

*Preferred Qualifications:
- Inspection Authorization (IA).
- Pilot's License.
- Experience working with general aviation aircraft.
- Familiarity with Textron, Cirrus, and other similar aircraft models.
