Job Summary

The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting and seating guests in a professional and welcoming manner while ensuring smooth dining room flow and exceptional guest service. This role manages reservations, answers telephone inquiries, and operates the ResPak system accurately and efficiently. The Host/Hostess maintains knowledge of menus, wine lists, and resort information to assist guests and support a seamless dining experience. Success in this role is demonstrated through strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to create a positive first impression for every guest. The position also supports overall restaurant operations by maintaining organized seating plans and assisting with In-Room Dining as needed.

Essential Functions and Duties

    Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this role.Greets and seats guests in the dining room in a professional, welcoming, and courteous manner.Answers telephone calls promptly and professionally while taking and managing reservations accurately.Maintains knowledge of basic menu items and wine lists to assist and inform guests as needed.Operates reservation systems (ResPak) efficiently to manage seating and reservations.Occasionally supports In-Room Dining by accurately taking guest orders in a timely manner.Prepares and organizes the host stand, including necessary equipment and materials for service.Creates and manages floor plans to ensure efficient seating and smooth service flow.Completes all opening and closing side work duties as assigned.Maintains cleanliness and organization of the host area and workstation at all times.Reads and follows all departmental memos and updates to ensure accurate communication.Communicates clearly and professionally with guests and team members at all times.Works collaboratively with team members to support efficient restaurant operations.Reports to the Restaurant Manager at the end of each shift as required.Upholds resort standards by acting as an ambassador of Enchantment and representing the property positively at all times.Fosters teamwork by assisting co-workers and supporting other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.Maintains knowledge of resort layout to assist guests effectively.Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.
