About the role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to join our team on an 18-month contract. Reporting to the CFO, this role will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, supporting day-to-day HR operations while ensuring consistency, compliance, and a positive employee experience.
What you'll do
Employee Relations & Leader Support
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance and resolution support to leaders and employees
- Manage disciplinary actions, investigations, and performance-related issues in accordance with company policies and employment legislation
- Support employee terminations, ensuring a fair, consistent, and legally compliant process
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to support retention and engagement initiatives
- Support promotion processes, ensuring appropriate documentation, equity, and alignment with internal frameworks
- Assist with the performance review process, including timelines, leadership coaching, and documentation
- Establish and maintain relationships with leaders to provide proactive HR guidance and support
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure HR practices comply with employment law and internal policies
- Manage employee accommodations in alignment with legislative requirements
- Oversee and administer leaves of absence, including medical, parental, and statutory leaves
- Monitor and manage the HR inbox, responding to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate, track, and support completion of mandatory HR and compliance training
Compensation & Pay Equity
- Contribute to the assessment and maintenance of the organization’s pay equity scale
- Partner with leadership to ensure compensation-related decisions align with internal equity and policy guidelines
Corporate Communications & Team Oversight
- Lead and manage internal corporate communications, ensuring clear, consistent, and timely messaging across the organization
- Partner with leadership to develop and deliver employee communications related to organizational updates, policies, and key initiatives
- Provide oversight, coaching, and direction to the HR Administrator and Talent Acquisition Manager
- Ensure alignment and collaboration across HR functions, including administration, recruitment, and employee experience
- Review workflows and processes to ensure efficiency, consistency, and a high standard of service delivery within the HR team
The skills you bring
- 3+ years of experience in Human Resources
- A professional designation in the field of Human Resources is strongly preferred (ex. CHRP)
- Extensive working knowledge of provincial and federal employment legislation
- Proven experience managing employee relations matters with discretion and professionalism
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
