DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acquaints all patients with the office procedures to which they will be exposed.
Informs patients of the purpose of al tests performed, and how they will be affected.
Scribes for the doctors as part of their daily assignments.
Performs Visual Acuity, Confrontational Visual Fields, Stereo Testing, Evaluation of Motility, Pupillary Function Tests, Color Plates, Applanation, TonoPen Tonometry, Fundus Photography, and other tasks specific to physician needs.
Assists physician with laser procedures (MD Schedules).
Assists physician with minor procedures, maintaining practice standards of sterile technique and infection control.
Provides patient home care instructions and counseling.
Takes patient blood pressure as necessary.
Clarifies pre- and post-op instructions with the patient.
Keeps exposed lenses, mirrors, and prisms clean.
Maintains sanitary conditions and par levels of replacement inventory.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge in medical office practices and medical terminology.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge in Electronic Medical Records, NexGen (preferred).
Familiarity with medications and ocular disease processes (preferred).
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma/GED.
Six months to one-year related experience and/or technical school training.
Two-years experience in medical assisting/vision care (strongly preferred).
Medical assistant training/certification (preferred but not required).
COA certificate (preferred but not required).

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a vision setting. Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required. This is a full-time position with a benefits package. Hourly rate will be determined based on experience and training of the candidate. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
POSITION LOCATION: EYE-Q Vision Care practice sites are located in Fresno, Clovis, and Selma.
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday (may work occasional Saturdays)
PAY RANGE: $21.00 - $32.00 per hour depending on skills, experience, and certifications.
