The Ohio Art Company is expanding operations in Bryan- and manufacturing equipment is arriving within the next few weeks. We’re looking for a skilled Tool & Die Machinist to join our Maintenance team and play a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and optimizing this equipment from day one.
This is more than a traditional machinist role- you’ll be working hands-on with production tooling that directly supports lithography and metal packaging operations, helping ensure quality, uptime, and performance.

- Fabricate, maintain, and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and precision components
- Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, schematics, and GD&T specifications
- Support production by troubleshooting and repairing tooling to minimize downtime
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to modify and improve tooling performance
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used
- Follow all safety standards, union guidelines, and maintenance procedures
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Tool & Die Machinist or precision machinist
- Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and metal forming processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Hands-on experience with manual machining equipment
- Knowledge of materials, heat treating, and manufacturing processes
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Reliable work history and commitment to safety
- Technical trade school, apprenticeship, or formal machinist training
- Experience supporting metal packaging, stamping, or high-speed production environments
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and tooling lifecycle management
