About This Position
The CNC Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and efficiency of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery through a combination of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Requirements:· Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and execute preventive maintenance tasks on CNC machines and supporting equipment (e.g., material handling systems, air and coolant lines) to identify and address potential issues before they cause major problems.
· Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software issues in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
· System Knowledge: Troubleshoot and repair a variety of systems, including high-voltage (e.g., 480V, 3-phase) and low-voltage AC/DC equipment, servo systems, and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
· Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used, often using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
· Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, engineers, and external vendors/OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to address complex problems, coordinate specialized repairs, and order necessary replacement parts.
· Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, to ensure a safe working environment.
· Installation: Assist in the installation, leveling, and alignment of new machinery and production equipment.
· Training and Support: Provide technical support and guidance to machine operators on basic maintenance procedures and proper machine operation to enhance overall machine reliability.
· Other duties as assigned
Academic Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, with an Associate's degree or technical certification in a related field (e.g., industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering) preferred.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing or CNC machine shop environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and ladder logic diagrams.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly diagnose issues and implement effective solutions
- Tool Proficiency: Experience using various diagnostic and measuring tools, such as multimeters, calipers, and micrometers.
- Strong communication skills, a "safety first" mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently (with limited supervision) and as part of a team.
