SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
NextDecade is seeking a full-time Director, Facilities Engineering to support long-term operations for the Rio Grande LNG facility located near Brownsville, Texas. The position will be based on site at RGLNG near Brownsville, Texas. -The incumbent will report to the Sr. Director of Engineering in the Operations Department, under the leadership of the Senior Vice President of Operations. -Peer level managers will include the Director, Process Engineering, Brownfield Projects Manager, Process Safety Manager, and Quality Manager.-Direct reports will include Manager Rotating Equipment, Manager Asset Integrity and Mechanical, Manager Instrument Control and Electrical and Engineer Facilities and MOC. Each of the Managers will direct teams related to their functional expertise. The overall Facilities Engineering Team will consist of approximately 20 team members for LNG Trains 1-3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to clearly communicate with others via radio, phone, and verbal methods. May be required to enter confined spaces. May be required to work at elevated heights and access elevated structures without assistance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the facilities engineering team by prioritizing and supporting delivery of the following:
- Major accident event barrier management
- Equipment technical monitoring
- Day to day technical support to maintenance and production teams including technical queries, trip response and support and risk management
- Management of change and technical support to brownfield projects
- Reliability, availability, production and asset integrity improvement (working with the reliability team who report through the Maintenance line)
- Manage the facilities engineering budget
- Own the major accident hazard barrier management procedure and drive continuous improvement in the procedure and integrity of the facility.
- Manage the technical authority program and act as the point of escalation for technical authorities.
- Support continuous improvement in the MOC process, and assurance that the MOC process is an effective barrier to incidents.
- Ensure Key Process Indicators (KPIs) for equipment and systems are monitored to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation.
- Ensure that the facility equipment and procedures conform to industry regulatory compliance standards and recommended practices for safety, environmental, and facility design.
- Ensure management of contractors in compliance with company procedures and ensure safe execution of work.
- Manage core facilities engineering and technical proficiencies for the team. Identify and oversee associated training and development.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 15+ years engineering experience in petrochemicals or LNG.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership, including team management
- Willingness to travel, domestically & internationally, as needed (approximately 5%)
- Advanced skills in the following areas:
- Operational risk management including managing risks to ALARP
- Process Safety Management (PSM)
- Management of Change (MOC)
- People leadership
- Organization, planning, prioritization and resource management
- Intermediate skills in the following areas:
- US LNG regulatory requirements
- Audit and assurance of business processes
- Continuous improvement
- Technical assurance
- Negotiation
- Cost benefit analysis
- Knowledge of:
- APCI liquefaction facility design (process and equipment)
- Maintenance strategy and maintenance optimization of LNG equipment
- Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards
- Risk Based Inspection (RBI) programs
- Functional Safety
- Incident investigation
