Role Description
The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for managing payroll administration, ensuring compliance with payroll-related regulations, and accurately processing employee payments. Core activities include handling payroll taxes, addressing garnishments, maintaining accurate payroll records, and performing payroll-related accounting tasks. The role also involves leveraging strong analytical skills to review payroll data and address discrepancies.
Location: Montreal, QC, H3Z 3C1
Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days in office / 2 days remote
Responsibilities:
- Report to management on payroll issues and changes
- Stay up-to-date on multi-state and federal payroll and tax laws
- Ensure an accurate and timely payroll, including base pay, payroll taxes, 401(k), statutory and supplemental benefits, etc..
- Answer employee and clinic management questions
- Process semi-monthly and bi-weekly multi-state payroll for US non-exempt and exempt employees
- Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records
- Perform other payroll-related duties, including ad hoc projects/data requests as needed
Qualifications
- 1-4+ years of experience processing payroll in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Advanced experience using Excel and spreadsheets
- Proficiency in Payroll Administration and managing Garnishments
- Solid Analytical Skills to identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll processes
- In-depth knowledge of Payroll Taxes and Accounting principles
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Familiarity with payroll processing software is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
