Welder at Abrams Airborne Manufacturing Inc – Tucson, Arizona

Job Summary:
Create quality welds according to prints and drawings and inspect welds for accuracy.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Set up, operate and maintain welding equipment.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure.
• Read prints and drawings to determine proper equipment.
• Follow all safety and hazard procedures and posters.

Required Skills/Abilities:
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a welder.
• Must have the ability to manually certify in aluminum stainless and 4130 steel.
• Must be able to weld with fluid puddle control throughout entire weld.
• Ability to read prints and drawings to determine proper weld application.
• Must have knowledge in the use of measuring tools such as calipers, scales, etc.
• Must have experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA, etc.)
• Must be willing to use personal protective equipment.
• Must have knowledge of safety standards.
• Must have excellent attention to detail.
• Must have good work ethic.
• Must be able to be certified.
• Must be able to read, understand and follow written directions.
• Must be able to read, understand and follow department and company policies and procedures.
• Must be able to communicate positively and effectively with other employees.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
• Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
