Daycare Chef (On-Call)! in Halifax, Nova Scotia at Kids & Company Ltd

Responsible for all the cooking, baking and food preparation in accordance with the Kids & Company menu and nutritional guidelines.Safely store food and dispose of waste following food safety regulations; maintain daily temperature logs for food, refrigerators, and freezers.Accommodate special dietary requirements, including allergies, vegetarian meals, and other medical or cultural needs.Ensure to follow allergen information.Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, including dishes, appliances, countertops, cupboards, and drawers.Follow all applicable food handling and health & safety legislation.Occasionally prepare meals for field trips, school-age programs, and community events.Travel to multiple locations across Nova Scotia as needed to provide kitchen support and adapt to the unique needs of each centre.

Current Food Handler Certification.2–4 years of experience as a Kitchen Lead, Sous Chef, or equivalent.Experience in a daycare or childcare environment is considered an asset.Valid driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must pass a criminal record check.Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 45 pounds.Flexibility and availability to travel and work on short notice across up to 7 locations in Nova Scotia.
