About This Position
The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing with administrative and supervisory responsibilities, ensuring high quality resident care and services consistent with regulations and established clinical best practices at Heritage of Webster County.
This position complies with department and organization-wide policies, long-term care facility requirements, safety, and infection control, and all Federal and State of Nebraska regulations related to the performance of Heritage of Webster County operations and requirements of the compliance program.
Requirements:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages staffing needs, creating and implementing schedules, and ensuring adequate coverage.
- Assists in development, implementation, and review of nursing policies and procedures.
- Participates in resident care planning, addressing resident concerns, and monitoring resident well-being.
- Ensures that nursing interventions meet each resident's personal, physical and cognitive needs and maximize his/her self-care capacities, identity, independence, choice, and opportunity for social interaction.
- Completes MDS assessments and care plans, ensures accurate and timely completion of resident records.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitors resident progress toward goals, adjusting as necessary.
- Participates in admission decisions to ensure resident needs can be met by facility nursing capabilities.
- Investigates and reports incidents and accidents.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and quality standards.
- Oversees infection prevention and control program ensuring safe and sanitary environment for residents, employees, and visitors via oversight of safety and maintenance functions.
- Supervises nursing and activities departments and employees, including assisting with training, mentoring, and evaluating nursing staff performance.
- Assists DON with setting goals and standards for nursing services and supports DON in holding regular staff meetings to provide communication and direction.
- Maintains strong relationships with residents, families, and medical professionals.
- Fosters a positive and supportive work environment for staff.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a current Nebraska state license.
· Minimum of two (2) years Nursing leadership experience in a long-term care setting.
· Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations governing nursing homes.
· Commitment to providing compassionate and resident-centered care.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
· Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State of Nebraska
· Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
