Skaalen is hiring a Culinary Team Lead to support and guide our kitchen team! In this hands-on role, you’ll help oversee daily operations, assist with menu planning and food ordering, and ensure an exceptional dining experience for our residents and staff. You’ll also support scheduling, payroll processes, and step in wherever needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Food and Nutrition Services.
What You’ll Do:
Support daily kitchen operations, meal service and satisfaction, and scheduling
Supervise and work alongside team members in the kitchen on a regular basis
- Assist in managing a 4-week rotating menu, including therapeutic and modified diets
- Help coordinate food and supply ordering, track inventory, and support budgeting efforts
- Coordinate meals for events, special occasions, and gatherings
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
What We’re Looking For:
Previous food service or kitchen leadership experience
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
- Food Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Flexibility with scheduling to meet operational needs
