Job Accounting Specialist

Pay: $20-$25/HR based on experience

Location: Lake City, MI

This is an on-site position (full time, in office role)

This role generally involves 40–50 hours per week, with weekly hours varying based on the seasonal needs of our operation. Any time worked over 40 hours in a week will be paid at the overtime rate.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for applying customer payments to specific accounts and invoices
• Maintain job revenue by collecting, calculating and entering data, resolving discrepancies, and maintain job files on several key projects
• Maintain and enter data entries of key processes, logs and reports
• Reconcile accounts receivable and cash accounts
• Maintain project-related records and change orders; update system information
• Investigate project variances
• Close out project accounts upon project completion both internal and externally
• Proactively provide feedback to management on projects needing attention
• Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required
• Assist with ERP developments
• Assess and improve internal processes and controls as appropriate

Qualifications/Skills:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering data
• Proficient problem solving and research skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Deadline-driven with excellent time management ability

Education and Experience Requirements:

• 1-3 years of general accounting experience preferred
• Experience in Accounts Receivable preferred
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
