About Employment Works
The Employment Works program at the Brooklyn Workforce1 Career Center supports individuals impacted by the criminal justice system in securing sustainable employment. The program focuses on removing barriers through workshops, individualized support, and direct pathways to quality job opportunities.

What You'll Do
The Career Advisor – Employment Works is responsible for providing individualized career services, helping jobseekers overcome barriers to employment, and supporting the program's placement goals for justice-involved participants. You will serve as a trusted guide, connecting clients to training opportunities, workshops, and high-quality employment that aligns with their skills and goals.

Key Responsibilities
Client Support & Assessment
• Conduct assessments for new participants to determine appropriate services
• Provide individualized career advisement and develop employment plans
• Review and revise participant résumés; prepare candidates for interviews
• Maintain an active caseload and accurate case notes for each client
Employment & Training Connections
• Refer participants to vocational rehabilitation, training programs, or Account Managers for employer recruitment events
• Collaborate closely with Account Managers and Community Partners to match job orders with participant qualifications
• Conduct skill-building and job readiness workshops
Program Goals & Data Management
• Manage a schedule for assessments, trainings, and career advisement with placement targets
• Enter accurate data into internal databases and generate reports as needed
• Support overall center outcomes and the Employment Works placement goals
Additional Responsibilities
• Support special events, job fairs, and workshops
• Assist with outreach, partner engagement, and community connections
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
• College degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience working with special populations
• 1–2 years of experience in social services, human resources, teaching, or career advisement
• Ability to assess individual skills accurately and make appropriate referrals
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
• Experience meeting performance metrics or working in outcome-oriented programs
Salary: $50,000/Yearly
