Information Technology Intern at Auto Care Association – Bethesda, Maryland

We are seeking a curious, motivated Information Technology Intern to support our Technology team across a variety of projects and daily initiatives. This internship is designed for current college students who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in a real-world IT environment while building practical, resume-ready skills.

Location: Hybrid – Bethesda, MD with work from home allowed

Duration: Part time (20-25 hrs. per week), June through August

Compensation: $20 per hour

Reports to: Information Technology Director

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the execution of a variety of IT-related projects across the organization
• Participate in user experience sessions and help gather and document user requirements
• Develop training materials and assist with supporting and training staff on software applications and tools
• Perform data cleanup and quality assurance tasks, including reviewing and aligning customer order dates in a CRM/AMS system
• Assist with general IT support tasks and troubleshooting common technology issues
• Collaborate with team members to improve documentation, processes, and end-user adoption of technology tools

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Actively pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or strong demonstrated interest in IT)
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel). Familiarity with SharePoint or OneDrive is a major plus
• Ability to translate "tech-speak" into plain English for staff training and documentation
• A logical approach to troubleshooting. You don't just fix the error; you want to know why it happened
• Ability to manage multiple small projects simultaneously without losing track of the details
• A "constant learner" mindset with the ability to master new software and processes quickly
• Working knowledge of common information technologies and systems
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of customer service
• Ability to learn new tools, systems, and processes quickly
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Bonus points if you’ve played around with Power Automate, Zapier, or basic scripting (Python/PowerShell).
