Job Description

Job Title: Laser Operator

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

The Laser Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the laser cutting machines to produce high-quality metal components according to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate laser cutting machines to cut sheet metal according to job specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine machine settings and material requirements.
  • Select appropriate cutting programs and adjust machine settings to optimize cutting performance.
  • Load and unload materials onto the laser machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from specifications and make necessary adjustments.
  • Perform Daily/Weekly preventive maintenance on laser equipment
  • Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

    • Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
  • Maintain neat, clean and orderly warehouse appearance.
  • Ability to work extended hours/overtime as needed
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Conform to all quality and safety procedures.
  • Required to operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.

    • Required Qualifications or Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience operating laser cutting machines in a manufacturing environment. Preferred but willing to train.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers. Preferred but willing to train.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb and move about the facility
  • Regularly required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, reach & carry.
