Position Overview:
ANSER is seeking a Economic Security and Strategic Engagement Analyst to support the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy (IBP) Global Investment and Economic Security Directorate (GIES). In this role you will work with allies, partners, industry, and congress to address economic security and foreign investment risks.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Provide interdisciplinary qualitative and quantitative analyses of international issues and a range of key microeconomic and macroeconomic elements of the industrial base. Specific research and analyses will focus on critical new and emerging technologies of interest to DoD and its near-peer competitors /adversaries.
- Provide scoped microeconomic and macroeconomic research and analysis utilizing both open source and classified databases.
- Prepare fully informed reports/briefings that describe the methodology utilized, datasets included, and results of each analysis effort conducted; along with specific recommendations identified throughout the effort.
- Support the development of economic security policies and economic security studies relating to the DIB.
- Provide program support to newly established working group/task force related to supply chain resilience and limiting risk to national security and economic security.
- Develop and provide program support to realistic and relevant scenarios (e.g. wargaming) based on Government-provided guidance, intelligence, and operational requirements.
- Plan, Develop, Execute and Participate in wargames.
- Develop and draft DoD Directives and Instructions concerning new or amended processes by which DoD can further refine its examination of proposed foreign investment transactions, anticipatory supply chain resilience, and monitoring and evaluation of current and future risk review methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility/adjudication
- Bachelors degree
- 5 years relevant economic security and strategic engagement experience
- Significant experience in one of the following focus areas: International Affairs, Diplomacy, Economics, Finance, National Security, or Business Administration.
- Demonstrated analytics skills and ability to communicate (oral or written) with senior DoD and USG leaders and experience preparing executive-level briefings and reports
- Experience preparing and conducting strategic analyses and studies, needs assessments, requirements analysis/definition and cost/benefit analyses to align business systems, solutions and initiatives.
- Ability to prepare forecasts, analyze trends, reporting regulations, and business conditions, and identify potential business risks
- Experience developing and analyzing metrics, performance measurements, requirements, reports and recommendations related to management, organizational structure, policy/procedures and business systems.
- Experience identifying potential business risks including, but not limited to, business performance, business and economic case analysis, internal control, and enterprise risk assessment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in relevant area
- Experience in International Affairs, Diplomacy, Economics, Finance, National Security, or Business Administration
- Experience operating within the Global Investment and Economic Security Directorate (GIES) or a similar senior, strategic-level staff environment
- Ability to work independently and manage projects from concept through completion
