About the Role
Spring Automation is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead our procurement, safety & compliance, and warehouse operations. This role is responsible for the end-to-end supply chain strategy and process development related to vendor selection and purchasing to inventory management and internal distribution. As a leader in our Nashville office, you will be tasked with professionalizing our logistics processes while directly investing in the growth and technical development of your team members.
This is a hybrid role based in Nashville, TN, reporting to Project Delivery leadership.
In this role, you will…
- Direct overall supply chain operations, including purchasing, inventory of raw materials, and distribution of finished goods.
- Establish supplier partnership strategy including onboarding of new suppliers, contract term negotiations, and commercial and technical qualification processes.
- Evaluate and align supplier partner network & capabilities with business commercial and technical needs.
- Establish, lead, and align safety & compliance standards across the Spring organization and supplier networks.
- Manage and maintain business and contract licensing requirements aligned with current and future project opportunities.
- Drive assembly and material production planning strategy and alignment across supply chain functions; procurement & warehouse operations.
- Manage supplier relationships and establish business review processes to strengthen partnership value and Spring Automation’s overall capability to deliver to customer expectations.
- Lead strategic sourcing and negotiation plans and discussions with supplier partners maintaining focus on technical capability, cost efficiencies, and risk mitigation across project portfolio.
- Establish and lead supplier selection process supporting project delivery & execution teams.
- Develop and implement equipment & part assembly make/buy decision processes aligned with program scale.
- Evaluate and improve tools and software related to purchasing, equipment & assembly labor demand forecasting, and alignment with financial tracking tools.
- Manage and mentor a small team of procurement, safety & compliance, and warehouse professionals, with a primary focus on their long-term career development and empowerment.
- Develop strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of internal operations.
- Support warehouse operations, ensuring accurate inventory levels and organized storage to support project timelines.
- Use past performance data to forecast material needs and production levels.
- Ensure all issues regarding new or existing products are resolved quickly to minimize project delays.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and sales to ensure supply chain alignment with business growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in supply chain, with a focus on procurement or warehouse management.
- Proven experience leading and developing small teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong background in vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Technical aptitude and comfort with industrial or automation-related components.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and inventory management software.
- A self-starter who balances high-level logistics strategy with hands-on execution
