Job Title: Line Cook

Reports to: Sous Chef; Executive Chef

Position Summary:
The line cook is a skilled line cook responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food in accordance with established recipes, standards, and guidelines. This role requires proficiency in multiple cooking stations and the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The line cook also assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes and instructions.
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
- Ensure the highest quality of food presentation and taste.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by following food safety and hygiene protocols.
- Work all stations including grill, sauté, fry, pantry, and prep as needed.
- Follow portion control standards and minimize waste.
- Assist with daily prep lists and production schedules.
- Communicate effectively with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
- Report any kitchen equipment issues or food quality concerns to supervisors.
- Comply with all safety, sanitation, and health standards.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2+ years of culinary experience in a high-volume or fine dining kitchen.
Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment, knife handling, and various cooking techniques.
Ability to read and follow recipes and prep lists accurately.
ServSafe Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain).
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to tolerate heat, cold, and a busy kitchen environment.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced and team-oriented.
Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays
