Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As our HR & Safety Administrator, you’ll be a key support to our HR and Safety functions, handling a wide variety of responsibilities that make a meaningful difference every day:

  • Maintain and update employee records in our HRIS, payroll, benefits, pension, and ERP systems.
  • Coordinate benefits and pension enrollments, transfers, and terminations.
  • Support recruitment by posting jobs, reviewing resumes, coordinating interviews, and working with hiring managers.
  • Create engaging social media posts and assist with employer branding and recruitment marketing.
  • Help bring our culture to life by coordinating employee events, celebrations, and milestone recognition.
  • Assist employees and managers with questions about policies, collective agreements, benefits, pension, and safety programs.
  • Support the Safety team with WCB documentation, inspections, reports, and training programs.
  • Onboard new hires—creating badges, new hire packages, and helping deliver orientation sessions.
  • Maintain bulletin boards, prepare mass communications, and help design posters and promotional materials.
  • Run reports, track HR metrics, and assist with special HR projects.
  • Support the payroll team for processing salary and hourly payrolls.
  • Serve as a backup and provide coverage when the HR Supervisor is away.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma, preferably in Human Resources Management or a related field or on-the-job experience.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a multi-disciplined Human Resources environment.
  • Having a CPHR Candidate status, working towards or having a strong desire to attain is considered an asset.
  • Experience using HRIS, Payroll Systems, or ERP systems is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
