About This Position
Seeking Part Time kitchen staff for exclusive catering / banquet venue at Meadow Brook Hall on campus of Oakland University in Rochester. Some kitchen or cooking experience preferred.
Hourly wage range can vary from $18 per hour up to and/or exceeding $20 per hour depending upon experience & skill level. This wage can be discussed further in the interview process & we will pay well, for the right applicants with an established skill set.
Primary available shifts: afternoons (2-10 / 3-11+)... Weekends are required.
Prep & production staff for both shifts (slice/dice fruits & vegetables, receive orders/deliveries, pull & organize products for events, appetizer construction, plate up salads, plate up desserts, assist in plating up entrees, salad, entree, dessert expo, sweeping, mopping, routine wiping/cleaning of work surfaces, limited dishwashing during shift). Limited or no experience OK. Pay scale dependent upon skill level and attitude
Credentialed cooks (season/sear proteins, production of starch options/sides, production of vegetable options/sides, appetizer construction/cooking, sauce production, plate up of entrees, expo of salads and entree, saucing of entrees at expo, dessert expo, sweeping, mopping, routine wiping/cleaning of work surfaces, limited dishwashing during shift) Experience required.. Pay rate determined by experience
Garde Manger Specialist (prep and build cheese, fruit, vegetable, charcuterie, etc... displays... build sweets displays (product is either made in house with basic recipes/procedures, commercially manufactured or purchased from a local bakery/pastry shop), sweeping, mopping, routine wiping/cleaning of work surfaces, limited dishwashing during shift) Experience required. Wage depends upon experience
Dishwashers/Utility (Rack and spray dishes to be run through a multi rack dish machine, spray/scrub pots/pans to be run through multi rack dish machine, maintaining organization of pot & pan area, sweeping, mopping, general wiping/cleaning equipment, emptying trash receptacles, assisting in prep & expo as needed) Limited or no experience is OK. Evening shifts, 5 or 6pm to 1 or 2am. Primarily weekends. No experience required.
Candidates must be well groomed, maintain clean and neat appearance, have reliable transportation and be able to work as part of a team.
Great opportunity for culinary students, empty nesters, 2nd job. Part time positions, but close to full time hours during peak season if desired and available.
