Job Description
Program Specialist
FULL TIME
Boston, MA
The Program Specialist is responsible for creating an empowering and supportive environment for individuals
with IDD, ensuring high-quality program delivery, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination of services.
Major Responsibilities
• Ensure that care is provided according to all relevant policies, procedures and regulations
• Monitor supplies and resources around SNAP Benefit and needs
• Coordinate Case Management review of client funds, room and board on a monthly basis with admin
team
• Ensure that all persons supported have received adequate and sufficient financial services
• Establish and maintain current, accurate, confidential records related to client funds
• Provide information to other health care professionals, as required
• Consult with family members and other support to ensure that care is on-going and that all person
supported needs are identified and met
• Manage client financial accounts as a Representative Payee, including tracking transactions, processing
payments, and maintaining accurate ledgers
• Review accounts daily to ensure accuracy, safeguard funds, and resolve discrepancies in a timely
manner
• Process check requests, stipends, and room & board payments in compliance with policies and
regulations
• Reconcile spending, maintain financial documentation, and complete required monthly and annual reports
• Maintain organized financial records, spreadsheets, and client files while meeting all deadlines around
client funds
• Conduct assessments to identify individual needs and develop person-centered care plans
• Coordinate medical, social, housing, and community services to support overall well-being
• Monitor progress and ensure care plans (ISP) are followed, updated, and effective
• Support and oversee program managers, ensuring proper training, performance, and adherence to
policies around the client funds

• Strong professional, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to support and implement RHD’s values.
• Ability to engage individuals and Direct Support Professionals in effective, therapeutic, and healthy
interactions.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and applications.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to attend meetings and home visits.
• Ability to meet all job responsibilities and expectations.
Education and Experience:
Candidates must meet one of the following:
• Master’s Degree from an accredited program with 1 year of work experience
directly supporting individuals with intellectual disability or autism.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program with 2 years of work experience
directly supporting individuals with intellectual disability or autism.
• Associate Degree from an accredited program with 4 years of work experience
directly supporting individuals with intellectual disability or autism.
• High School Diploma or GED with 6 years of work experience directly supporting
individuals with intellectual disability or autism.
